Resident. Parent. Neighbour.

ABOUT COURTNEY

A practical advocate. A thoughtful decision-maker. A neighbour who shows up.

Courtney Taylor brings a combination of professional experience, advocacy, and lived experience to her campaign for Ward 4 Councillor.

Professionally, Courtney spent more than 20 years working in operations and procurement, developing expertise in budgets, contracts, vendor relationships, negotiation, problem-solving, and accountability. She understands that responsible local government means making thoughtful decisions, asking good questions, and making sure residents receive real value for every dollar spent.

Before moving to Stouffville, Courtney spent eight years advancing mental health initiatives across Canada. She co-founded the March for Mental Health, served as Co-Chair of the Toronto chapter of Partners for Mental Health (prior to its national integration into the CMHA), co-authored and edited a published book, earned features in multiple newspapers, and lobbied at Queen's Park and Parliament Hill for improved access to care. Courtney is very proud of her advocacy in support of a national suicide prevention action plan; a plan that was subsequently adopted by the federal government. She also holds a Certificate in Psychological Health and Safety from the Canadian Mental Health Association.

That work taught Courtney something she carries into everything she does: listen first, understand the problem, build partnerships, and then work toward practical, effective solutions.

Since settling in Ward 4, Courtney has put that same belief into practice here. She has volunteered in her daughter's classroom, served on parent council, supported local businesses, helped neighbours, and become deeply involved in the community she now calls home.

As a mother raising her daughter while caring for her own mother in a multi-generational home, Courtney also understands firsthand how decisions about housing, affordability, transportation, infrastructure, parks, services, and growth affect everyday life.

Community isn't just something Courtney talks about. It's something she builds by showing up. She believes Ward 4 deserves a councillor who is accessible, collaborative, and fiscally responsible. Someone who listens before they speak, works respectfully with others, and makes thoughtful decisions that put residents first.

She's running because she loves this community. And she'd be honoured to help shape its future.
